ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – A construction zone fire caused an evacuation at Wylie East Intermediate Friday afternoon.
Wylie ISD officials say the school was evacuated after smoke was observed coming from a construction zone at the campus on the 4700 block of Oldham Lane around 2:00 p.m.
First responders got the fire under control. School officials say all students are safe and will be returning to class, with dismissal taking place at the regular time, parent pickup, and bus procedures in place.
