October 26, 2026 – AUSTIN, Texas – A 17-year-old McKinney teenager is in federal custody after being arrested for an alleged ISIS-inspired radical Islamic terror plot targeting U.S. Representative Keith Self and planning a broader attack, state officials announced Thursday.
Governor Greg Abbott issued a statement on October 22 praising law enforcement agencies for intervening and apprehending the suspect before any violence could be carried out.
“The FBI stopped this radical Islamic terrorist before he could strike,” Governor Abbott said. “Radical Islamic terrorism has no place in Texas. We will combat radical Islam in all forms and eliminate every threat it poses.”…
