LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) – Strong to severe storms will approach SWLA overnight and a Severe Thunderstorm Watch is now in effect. That watch is in effect until 3 AM for Allen, Beauregard, and Vernon Parishes. Several clusters of storms over Texas are moving toward SWLA and will likely arrive between 10 PM and 2 AM. Damaging winds and large hail will be the primary threat from any storms overnight. These are forming ahead of a cold front pushing toward our area.
