Some driver license offices will be open on Saturdays for the rest of September only

AUSTIN (KXAN) — Texans looking to get their driver license renewed or replaced have more appointment time options for the rest of this month.

The Texas Department of Public Safety is adding Saturday appointments at select driver license offices statewide through the end of this month.

Participating offices, which will be located in each region of Texas, will be open for half days on Sept. 21 and 28 to serve additional customers needing driver license or identification card renewal or replacement services, according to DPS.

Those services will be available by appointment only. Customers can book appointments online .

Texans have faced issues or long wait times over the last few years trying to secure appointments at DPS Driver License Offices after DPS in 2020 moved to an appointment-only system.
