Trevon Diggs confronts Cowboys reporter over tweet after loss vs. 49ers: ‘Talk to deez nuts’

The Cowboys suffered a frustrating loss to the 49ers on ‘Sunday Night Football’ despite holding San Francisco to only six points in the first half.

As the 49ers’ offense started rolling in the third quarter, you could tell that the frustrations started mounting for the Cowboys’ defense. Local TV anchor Mike Leslie, who works for WFAA in Dallas, criticized cornerback Trevon Diggs on Twitter for his actions during a big George Kittle reception — and it didn’t go unnoticed by the defensive back.

After the 30-24 San Francisco win , the media were waiting to talk to the players, and Diggs abruptly came out of the visiting locker room and went right up to Leslie, confronting him over his tweet. Here’s what happened.

Trevon Diggs confronts Cowboys reporter after 49ers loss

Leslie doesn’t mention anything directly in the tweet about Diggs’ lack of effort, but it is certainly implied. Clearly, Diggs picked up on the tone and is angry that Leslie is questioning him for the whole play. In the cornerback’s defense, he played solid man defense ahead of the reception to Kittle, who he wasn’t guarding. It’s just the middle part of the play that looks bad before Kittle is tackled.
