The Dallas Cowboys took another major hit to their roster in Week 9, with star quarterback Dak Prescott sidelined by a hamstring injury sustained in the loss to the Atlanta Falcons. Owner Jerry Jones indicated Prescott would “likely” head to the injured reserve list, which would require him to miss at least four games. This injury leaves Dallas facing pivotal quarterback decisions as they head into a challenging schedule stretch.
During his regular segment on 105.3 The Fan , Jones fielded questions about the Cowboys’ quarterback situation and provided insight into the possible roles for backup quarterbacks Cooper Rush and Trey Lance. When asked whether Dallas had considered giving Lance the start, Jones kept his response open-ended.
“Let’s not dismiss the possibility of doing anything. The going with has a past tense to it that I wouldn’t recognize. It’s not impossible to incorporate some of the skills that we might get from both quarterback [Cooper Rush, Trey Lance].” said Jones.
