3 juvenile inmates who escaped North Texas jail have been captured, authorities say

Three juvenile inmates who escaped the Lake Granbury Youth Services facility after assaulting two guards were arrested on Monday, Dec. 16, the Texas Department of Public Safety said in a news release.

The inmates — two 16-year-olds and a 15-year-old — stole a vehicle and several guns and then committed an armed robbery at a gas station in Dublin, after escaping on Sunday, authorities said.

After the robbery, a manhunt for the three teens was conducted by the Dublin Police Department, Granbury Police Department, Erath County Sheriff’s Office, Texas Department of Criminal Justice, and Texas DPS.

The suspects stole a second vehicle and traveled to Lancaster, authorities said.

Lancaster police found the stolen vehicle and attempted to conduct a traffic stop. The suspects then fled to Hutchins, where they abandoned the vehicle, the release stated.

A multi-agency law enforcement search in the Dallas area located the suspects and they have been arrested. All three were in police custody Monday.
