Pedestrian fatally struck by vehicle, one arrested and another at large

RICHARDSON, Texas – A pedestrian was killed early Wednesday morning after a Cadillac SUV collided with a Kia sedan and then struck the pedestrian in a marked crosswalk, according to the Richardson Police Department. The incident occurred at the intersection of W. Spring Valley Rd. and the East Frontage Road of S. Central Expressway.The crash happened around 1:55 a.m. on December 18, 2024. Preliminary investigations suggest the Cadillac, traveling northbound on the frontage road, may have run a red light before being hit by the westbound Kia sedan, stated the department. After the collision, the Cadillac continued forward, hitting the pedestrian whose identity has not yet been released pending notification of next of kin.Following the crash, two individuals fled the Cadillac on foot. Responding officers apprehended one suspect, while the other remains at large. The driver of the Kia sedan was not injured, according to the police.The Richardson Police Department’s Special Crash Investigation Team is actively investigating the incident.
