Allen officials reflect on big wins of 2024

Allen has seen a lot of growth over the last year, from economic wins to major infrastructural renovations. City Manager Eric Ellwanger and Mayor Baine Brooks spoke on some of the city’s big wins, including improved facilities through bond-funded projects, such as the Allen Public Library expansion and the creation of the Terrell Recreation Center. Additionally, notable achievements include continued development along Highway 121, with the opening of the class-A office building “Farmworks” and the groundbreaking of “Chicken and Pickle” in the Farm development. Another key success was the city’s receipt of a AAA bond rating, which signals financial stability and boosts confidence for businesses and homeowners looking to invest in Allen, according to Brooks.
