The world’s largest retailer, Walmart, operates nearly 4,600 locations across the United States. Founder Sam Walton opened the first location in Rogers, Arkansas in 1962. Since then, the company has grown into a retail giant generating approximately $500 billion in annual sales.
Sam had this reflection on the company’s success:
I had no vision of the scope of what I would start. But I had confidence that as long as we did our work well and were good to our customers, there would be no limit to us.
Walmart is not done growing yet!
Business Insider is reporting that the company has plans for 10 new locations coming in 2025:
- 6 Walmart Supercenters
- 3 Walmart Neighborhood Markets
- 1 Sam’s Club
Four of the Supercenters will be in Texas:
- Cypress, Texas
- Frisco, Texas
- Melissa, Texas
- Celina, Texas
While specific grand opening dates haven’t been announced, all new stores are should open in 2025. The remaining locations will be spread across California, Florida, Arizona, and Alabama.
