ARLINGTON – The rumors surrounding Mike Vrabel set him up as the hottest candidate in this NFL coaching cycle, putting him in the lead on the Coaching Carousel.
And amid smart speculation that a) he’s already forged a connection with the New York Jets and b) that Mike McCarthy has what we’ve termed “the inside track” on being retained in Dallas comes another “nugget” that will serve as a shocker to the critics of “America’s Team.” …
Vrabel is “100-percent interested” in being hired by the Dallas Cowboys.
Vrabel, who interviewed with the Jets on Friday, has gone public with some of the things he’s looking for in his next job. His list includes a positive relationship with his next GM and a high level of play from his quarterback.
He has not gone public about how the Cowboys – with a front office led by owner/GM Jerry Jones and a locker room led by QB Dak Prescott – fits into his preferred vision.
But Bobby Belt of flagship radio station 105.3 The Fan is reporting that the former Titans coach is “interested” in the Dallas job.
