Gov. Abbott Appoints Michael Dickens as Judge of Denton County’s 477th District Court

In a recent move within the Texas judicial system, Governor Greg Abbott has taken to the bench with the appointment of Michael Dickens to preside over the 477th Judicial District Court in Denton County. Announced yesterday, Dickens will serve a term that runs up until the waning days of 2026, concluding on December 31, or when a successor is firmly in place, according to a press release from the Governor’s office.
