Suspect leads Corinth Police on pursuit, ends up swimming in Lake Lewisville

CORINTH, Texas – A 36-year-old man led Corinth police on a vehicle pursuit that ended with him swimming into Lake Lewisville on January 30, 2025. The chase began when officers attempted to stop a stolen vehicle on FM 2181, according to the Corinth Police Department.The driver fled on foot into the lake, swimming approximately 150 yards to a tree stump. With water temperatures between 48-52 degrees, officers quickly called the Lewisville Dive Team for assistance. Two Corinth officers boarded the Lewisville Fire Department Rescue Boat and apprehended the suspect without incident. The man was taken to Denton Medical City for hypothermia treatment and will face charges of Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle and Evading with a Vehicle.
