Carrollton honors life-saving officer’s heroic effort

A Carrollton police office and multiple EMS workers were honored for saving a man who overdosed from fentanyl.

On the evening of Oct. 9, 2024, the North Texas Emergency Communications Center (NTECC) received a 911 call for a potential fentanyl overdose. Carrollton Fire and Rescue, along with Carrollton police, were dispatched to the incident. Upon arrival, a patient was found unresponsive with shallow respirations in the front seat of their car.
