Since the Doomsday Clock was recently set the closest to midnight it has ever been, let’s examine just how safe Texas would be in the event of a nuclear war.
I realize this is one of the most depressing subjects on the planet. As an 80s kid, I grew up under what felt like the constant threat of a nuclear exchange between the United States and the Soviet Union.
And then the Berlin Wall fell in 1989, signaling the end of the Cold War. I remember an instant feeling of relief. Unfortunately, the threat of nuclear war never fully went away and here we are, closer than ever (according to a group of scientists, anyway)…
