Fort Worth, TX – Severe weather is expected to sweep across North and Central Texas Sunday afternoon into early Monday morning, with the Fort Worth area under increased threat for damaging winds and large hail.
According to the National Weather Service in Fort Worth, strong to severe thunderstorms will develop ahead of a cold front and dryline beginning around 3 p.m. Sunday. The greatest risk areas include Fort Worth, Waco, Killeen, and as far east as Palestine, where storms may persist through 1 a.m. Monday.
The primary hazards include wind gusts exceeding 60 mph and hail up to the size of golf balls. While the tornado threat remains low, forecasters caution that it is not zero.
