Dallas County Commissioners approve independent review of medical examiner files in Robert Roberson case

DALLAS — The Dallas County Commissioners Tuesday approved an independent review of the medical examiners’ files in the Robert Roberson case.

Roberson is on death row after he was convicted in 2003 for the killing of his 2-year-old daughter. Prosecutors said that his daughter Nikki died from “shaken baby syndrome,” which Roberson’s attorneys and some experts have called “junk science.”

After she was found unresponsive, Nikki was initially treated at a Palestine hospital in 2002 before she was transported to Dallas for treatment, where she later died, as the Texas Tribune reported…
