VICTORIA, Texas — The transfer of the University of Houston–Victoria to the Texas A&M University System continues to move forward, with key discussions taking place.
On Thursday, the Texas Senate Committee met to discuss the ongoing transition of UHV to the Texas A&M System — a proposal that supporters say could bring significant economic and educational benefits to the Victoria region.
The transfer is part of Senate Bill 2361, a legislative effort first introduced 14 years ago. Former State Rep. Geanie Morrison, who represented District 30, led a similar initiative in 2011.
