The McKinney North boys and girls track and field teams didn’t lack for representation at the Class 5A state meet, and the Bulldogs closed out their 2025 campaign with plenty of hardware to show for it.
Both North teams finished in the top five of the team standings during the state meet, held Friday-Saturday at Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin, with the Lady Bulldogs taking third overall with 45 points and the Bulldogs notching fifth with 28.
With that came several trips to the podium, including four such moments for Ryhan Balous. The Alabama commit competed in four events at state for the second consecutive year and earned a medal in each one—defending her state title in the long jump with a personal-record, national No. 1 leap of 21-2.75, followed by earning a silver medal in the 4×100-meter relay (45.87) and bronze in both the 100 dash (11.52) and 4×200 relay (1:37.32)…
