LEWISVILLE, Texas — A gas leak prompted evacuations and business closures Tuesday afternoon at a strip center along the northbound frontage road of Interstate 35E, according to the Lewisville Police Department.
Emergency crews from the Lewisville Police and Fire Departments responded to the scene at 2428 S. I-35E frontage road shortly after 1:08 p.m., when the leak was first reported. Authorities said the area has since been secured, and there is no immediate danger to the public.
All businesses in the affected strip center have been evacuated, and power has been disconnected as a precaution. Police said repairs are expected to take an “extended period of time.”…
