‘American Idol’ finalist Breanna Nix returns home to Denton for free concert

DENTON, Texas — Denton could soon have its own “American Idol” in Breanna Nix. To celebrate, she’s heading back to her hometown this week for a free concert and parade for all of her supporters.

The 25-year-old stay-at-home mom made it to the top three of the competition during Disney Night on Monday, when she sang “This Will Be” and “You’ll Be In My Heart” from the 1999 animated film “Tarzan.”

Her homecoming celebration will take place Wednesday, May 14. The parade kicks off at 4:30 p.m. at the historic Downtown Denton Square. Keep in mind that roads around the square will be closed, so officials recommend arriving early to find parking and secure a spot along the route…
