DALLAS — Dallas ranks second for new home construction, falling just behind Houston, according to a new study from Consumer Affairs.
Dallas issued more than 9,800 new building permits in the first two months of 2025, according to Consumer Affairs, which analyzed data on new building permits and new-construction home sales during the first two months of 2025. The city also ranks fifth for new-construction sales in the same period, with about 740 new homes sold, the study found.
