Frisco ISD announced that 30 students were awarded National Merit scholarships, and 133 students were named National Merit semifinalists and finalists — the highest number for any Texas school district.
The scholarship recipients received $2,500 or corporate-sponsored scholarships from the National Merit Scholarship Corp. The district expects additional winners when the college-sponsored National Merit scholarships are announced in the summer.
