Dallas man sentenced to 70 months for illegal firearm possession

DALLAS, Texas — A 26-year-old Dallas man with a history of domestic violence convictions has been sentenced to 70 months in federal prison for illegally possessing a firearm as a felon. Thomas Keithlun Brown pled guilty to the federal offense in September 2024 and was sentenced on June 18, 2025, by United States District Judge Ed Kinkeade.

Prosecutors argued for the 70-month sentence due to Brown’s extensive history of assaulting women and prior domestic violence convictions, according to a press release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Texas.
