Why wait for a driver — or worse, leave the house — when your food can be flown straight to your door? That’s the new reality for residents of Frisco and Little Elm, thanks to DoorDash and Flytrex’s newly launched drone delivery service.
The partnership expands upon a successful pilot program and now brings aerial food delivery from dozens of local and national restaurants to more than 30,000 households across the area.
How It Works
Operating daily from 8 a.m. to 9:30 p.m., this marks Flytrex’s first integration with a third-party app. Customers can now select drone delivery directly through the DoorDash app, with orders prepped at restaurants and flown autonomously to their backyards. Frisco’s drone delivery zone currently serves over 100,000 residents, with additional North Texas locations expected to launch soon.
DoorDash now leads the region in drone delivery availability, offering the longest hours and the highest payload capacity. Flytrex’s drones can carry up to 6.6 pounds, already the largest in the area, with next-gen models increasing that limit to 8.8 pounds.
