A Dallas County jury has found 23-year-old Osahon Oluwatomi Mikei-Irabor guilty of Murder in connection with the death of tow truck driver 61-year-old Robert Myers, who was fatally struck during an attempted vehicle theft at a tow yard. Mikei-Irabor was sentenced to 10 years in prison on April 24, 2025.
The incident occurred on August 6, 2023, when Mikei-Irabor attempted to retrieve his vehicle from a Dallas tow yard in the 7000 block of South Central Expressway but was unable to pay because the business did not accept Apple Pay, his only form of payment. He later returned to the property without authorization and attempted to steal the vehicle.
As Mikei-Irabor drove the vehicle off the lot, Myers, a tow yard employee, tried to stop him. According to prosecutors, Mikei-Irabor drove directly into Myers and then continued to drive erratically, performing donuts in the street before slamming the brakes.
