Allen man headed to prison for running fentanyl operation from local motel

WICHITA FALLS (KFDX/KJTL) — A man was sentenced to several decades in prison after he pleaded guilty to running a fentanyl dealing operation out of a Wichita Falls motel.

Sammie Moody III, 33, of Allen, pleaded guilty to engaging in organized criminal activity and bail jumping on Friday morning, July 11, 2025, in the 30th District Court, with Judge Jeff McKnight presiding.

Moody was sentenced to 30 years in prison for engaging in organized criminal activity and 10 years in prison for bail jumping. Judge McKnight set the sentences to run concurrently.

As a part of the plea agreement, an additional charge of manufacturing or delivering a controlled substance against Moody was dismissed.

Unlike most plea deals, in which a defendant waives his right to appeal the sentence, Moody will retain his ability to appeal the judgment for the charge of engaging in organized criminal activity.
