Dallas patrol officers thwarted a robbery while it was still unfolding. According to a report by the Dallas Police Department, at approximately 3:00 a.m. on June 22, officers were on routine patrol in the 9700 block of Walnut Hill Lane when they were approached by a store clerk.
The clerk reported a robbery in progress and indicated that the armed suspect was still at the scene. It was Jose Arias Cruz, 26, allegedly wielding a knife. The responding officers, without hesitation, entered the premises and safely subdued Cruz.
