A woman was fatally shot by Lewisville police early Thursday after a chase that spanned multiple North Texas cities and ended in a commercial parking lot, police say.
The incident began shortly after midnight when a Lewisville police officer initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by a woman believed to have a felony warrant issued by another agency. After the officer confirmed her identity and awaited verification of the warrant, the woman fled the scene at a high rate of speed, Lewisville police said.
