A Community In Bloom: Flower Mound’s Furst Ranch To Bring 1,400 Homes And H-E-B

A significant transformation is underway in Flower Mound as developers prepare to break ground on Furst Ranch, a sweeping 2,300-acre master-planned community that promises to reshape the town’s landscape.

The massive project will include 1,400 new homes, 500,000 square feet of retail, a potential medical district and roughly 450 acres dedicated to open space and parks.

“Furst Ranch will provide an exceptional outdoor environment, particularly impressive for a development of this magnitude,” said Dustin Davidson, managing director at Hines, the firm leading the project.

What’s Included

Furst Ranch aims to blend upscale living with convenience and green space. In addition to residential housing, the first phase of the development includes:

  • Plans for a medical district and local schools
  • Parks, trails and outdoor amenities across 450 acres

The first homes are expected to break ground in 2027. According to filings with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, infrastructure work will begin in October and wrap up by April 2026. That portion of construction is estimated to cost nearly $29 million.
