Population growth fuels trade school enrollment surge at Collin College

TEXAS — As artificial intelligence reshapes the job market and North Texas experiences rapid population growth, vocational training programs are seeing a surge in enrollment — especially at Collin College’s Technical Campus in Allen.

The campus offers 20 hands-on programs in high-demand fields such as construction, health care, robotics and automotive technology. School officials say interest in these trade programs is growing.

“Each year we’re seeing a 15 to 20% increase in enrollment overall, with some programs growing by as much as 30%,” said Dr. Brenden Mesch, provost of Collin College’s Technical Campus…
