The Collin College Foundation received a $10,000 boost this month thanks to Choctaw Casino & Resort – Durant’s “3 Months. 3 Millionaires.” promotion. The gift will fund scholarships for students pursuing higher education in North Texas.
A Prosper Winner Gives Back
The donation was made on behalf of Melissa, a Prosper resident and Collin College associate who won $1 million in July during the casino’s summer-long giveaway. For Melissa, choosing the Collin College Foundation was personal. “When considering where to make this contribution, supporting the foundation was an easy decision,” she said in a statement. “This truly represents a unique opportunity where I know first-hand the positive impact the foundation has on our students and college community.”
Supporting Student Success
Laura Madden, executive director of the Collin College Foundation, welcomed the donation, emphasizing how much it means for local students. “Our mission is to help students be successful in their educational journeys and this gift affirms our shared belief that education changes lives and strengthens our community,” Madden said.
The foundation will use the money to support scholarships, providing financial relief for students as they work toward their degrees.
