East Dallas mother paralyzed after falling tree files $1 million lawsuit

A young East Dallas mother who was left paralyzed from the neck down when a tree collapsed onto her SUV is now suing the property owner for more than $1 million in damages.

The lawsuit, filed this week in Dallas County, claims the property owner — who also serves as the chair of the Texas Trees Foundation — ignored repeated warnings that the tree was visibly decayed and at risk of falling.
