H-E-B’s arrival in Murphy is no longer just a plan on paper. Back in April 2024, we looked at the corner of FM 544 and McCreary Road, when the San Antonio-based grocer first unveiled its intentions for the site. Since then, the project has officially broken ground, and the latest Google Earth imagery from 2025 shows construction well underway.
Construction Update
The Murphy H-E-B held its groundbreaking ceremony in November 2024, marking another step in the chain’s rapid North Texas expansion. The store will measure around 122,000 square feet and is part of the larger 19-acre McCreary Marketplace project. Site work has advanced in 2025, with grading, equipment staging, and foundation prep visible from above. The store is scheduled to open in 2026, though no exact month has been announced.
