Dallas police have reported a substantial drug and firearm seizure following targeted patrols earlier this month. On September 6, officers stopped a vehicle on the 13600 block of the North Central service road, leading to the arrests of three individuals on various charges.
The traffic stop, part of a proactive approach to policing in the area, uncovered two suspects with outstanding warrants. An investigation of the vehicle also revealed a collection of illegal narcotics, including 9.4 grams of fentanyl, 7.4 grams of methamphetamine, and 2 grams of cocaine. Additionally, an AR-style pistol and two handguns were seized from the scene, according to a report by the Dallas Police Department.
The individuals apprehended include Kendrick Mathis, 46, who is facing multiple felony charges related to the narcotics found. Mathis has been charged with two counts of first-degree felony Manufacture / Delivery of a Controlled Substance for the fentanyl and methamphetamine, and with one count of second-degree felony for the cocaine. Mathis also faces a charge of Unlicensed Carrying of a Weapon with a Felony Conviction.
