Luis Mendoza and Angelica Martinez just barely made it to the hospital before the birth of baby Kamilah … but they didn’t actually make it inside.
Martinez started having intense contractions two blocks before the couple arrived at Methodist Dallas Medical Center. Labor progressed quickly “and the baby’s head started coming out,” Mendoza told NBC Dallas-Fort Worth.
Mendoza stopped the car in the driveway at the front entrance of the hospital. While the valet parking attendant ran inside for help, Mendoza jumped out of the car and rushed to his wife’s side.
“The first thing I did is just get up and go around to to the passenger side and help deliver the baby,” Mendoza said. “Everybody started coming out from the hospital, nurses and doctors, the president of the hospital also showed up. It was very helpful. They came out right away to support us.”…
