Tiny home purchases are on the rise in Texas, dealer says

AUBREY, Texas — Bigger isn’t always better for some homeowners, even in Texas. A North Texas dealer gave us a firsthand look at the construction that is drawing buyers from near and far.

Melissa Hayes, the owner of Liberty Tiny Homes and Village, enjoys showing off the latest construction and models of the park model recreational vehicles, which are also known as tiny homes, at her location in Aubrey, well north of Dallas near Frisco. Most of the homes are manufactured in Texas, with some built in Alabama. In order to qualify as a tiny home, it cannot exceed 400 square feet in size.
