Frisco ISD Educator Named Texas’ Top Social Studies Teacher

A longtime Frisco ISD educator has been recognized as one of the state’s best. Stephanie Conklin, a social studies teacher at Clark Middle School, was named the 2025 Betty Barringer Texas Middle School Teacher of the Year by the Texas Council for the Social Studies (TCSS).

The award honors exceptional teachers who demonstrate excellence in social studies instruction and contribute actively to professional organizations across Texas and beyond.

A Career Built On Passion And Purpose

Conklin has spent 38 years in education, including 21 at Clark Middle School, where she currently serves as content lead. Over the years, she has also been a department chair and instructional coach, guiding both students and colleagues. In 2018–19, she was named Clark’s Campus Teacher of the Year.
