Starting in the 2026–27 school year, Frisco Independent School District will introduce Frisco Flex, a virtual learning program designed to give high school students more choice and flexibility in how they learn.
According to an official statement from Frisco ISD, the program will allow families to choose between two models — a fully online enrollment or a hybrid format that combines virtual and in-person courses. Registration opens in December for current students and in January for new students and those outside the district.
A Flexible Approach To Education
The new program expands Frisco ISD’s academic offerings with multiple pathways to graduation. Students who opt for the fully online track can complete all coursework virtually, under the guidance of certified Frisco ISD teachers. The program is open to Texas residents who complete their studies within the state.
The hybrid model, meanwhile, blends online and on-campus instruction. Students who take at least four online courses will be considered part of the hybrid program. This option is available to current FISD students and incoming ninth graders through the district’s Access Frisco initiative.
