Frisco Rail District Launches ‘Buy One, Get One’ Gift Card Program to Revitalize Local Economy

The Frisco Rail District has seen the kickoff of a digital gift card program, which promises to boost local spending power by simply doubling down on residents’ investments. The initiative, which started today as reported by the City of Frisco, is engineered by the Frisco Community Development Corporation (FCDC) and provides purchasers with a ‘Buy One, Get One’ (BOGO) Bonus Card. The FCDC is footing the bill for these bonus dollars, while funds are available.

Chad Brubaker, Chairman of the FCDC, explained the efforts to support the Rail District, which has suffered through a long 18 months of construction. “The Frisco Community Development Corporation is proud to invest local sales tax dollars back into the community through programs that directly benefit our small businesses,” Brubaker said, per the City of Frisco. The scheme aims not just to support local commerce but also to drive quickly renewed traffic and energy into the Rail District, as Brubaker emphasized.

Details of the program reveal that for a $25 purchase of a gift card, the buyer also receives a matching $25 Bonus Card, allowing them to have $50 in total to spend at Rail District businesses. The funds are distributed across two cards with different expiration dates; the Gift Card never expires, while the Bonus Card will lapse after January 31, 2026.
