In an effort to support the community ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday, the Tarrant Area Foodbank has coordinated a mobile distribution event that was held yesterday at the C.H. Collins Athletic Complex in Denton, offering assistance to those in need, including individuals affected by the federal government shutdown and the SNAP benefit disruptions. A social media post from the City of Denton highlighted the details of the distribution, stating, “We’re Here To Help! Join us for a pre-Thanksgiving mobile distribution.”
The event, which ran between 10 am and 12 pm, was prepared to offer aid to up to 1,000 families while supplies lasted and attendees were welcomed on a first-come, first-serve basis, the information of which was duly shared through the city’s official Facebook page and also detailed on City of Denton’s post, which also guided residents to more sites for those who might not be able to make it to the event…
