Stronger Together: Two Collin County Nonprofits Unite To Combat Hunger And Homelessness

In a major step toward addressing two of Collin County’s most pressing challenges, The Samaritan Inn merged with Community Lifeline Center, combining their efforts to fight food insecurity and homelessness under one umbrella.

The alignment allows both organizations to better serve residents across the county by creating a seamless system of care, one that reaches families before, during and after experiencing homelessness.

The merger brings Community Lifeline Center’s grocery-store-style food pantry and emergency assistance programs into The Samaritan Inn’s existing framework of shelter, job training and case management. Together, the newly expanded Samaritan Inn will now offer a continuum of services designed to stabilize families in crisis and prevent homelessness before it begins.

Expanding Services And Reach

With the addition of the food pantry and emergency programs, The Samaritan Inn can now meet families at multiple points of need. From emergency rent and utility assistance to long-term job readiness and housing stability, the nonprofit is building a stronger safety net for North Texans facing hardship.
