In an effort to support local families and bolster Rail District businesses amid Main Street reconstruction, the City of Frisco is joining forces with the Frisco Community Development Corporation (FCDC) and Frisco Family Services (FFS). Announced on November 6th, individuals who provide aid through various forms of donations or volunteer work will be rewarded with a $50 gift card, applicable at participating downtown businesses. According to the City of Frisco, these gift cards are available while supplies last, beginning today.
Chad Brubaker, Chairman of Frisco Community Development Corporation, highlighted the community spirit behind the initiative, “The values that built Frisco — faith, generosity, and neighbors helping neighbors — still guide us today,” he stated in the City of Frisco’s announcement. By contributing $50 worth of food, toys, or in-kind donations to FFS locations or volunteering for two hours or more, participants can earn the gift card, which in turn supports small businesses affected by the ongoing construction.
Expanding on the initiative, Nicole S. Bursey, the Executive Director of Frisco Family Services, underscored the current needs of the community, “We’re a vital resource for those in our community facing crisis and in need of financial assistance and food.
