Plano Voters Could Decide Whether the City Keeps DART Transit Services

Plano, Texas submitted a proposal to the Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) agency that could preserve transit services in the city for five years, reports Jack Fink for CBS News.

“Plano wants DART to continue providing rail service and express buses, but discontinue its standard bus service, demand-response and other non-rail transit services by January 1, 2029.” In exchange, Plano is asking DART for a portion of its annual sales tax contribution back, starting with 25 percent in 2026 and increasing to 50 percent by 2031…
