Detention Officer Dies in Off-Duty Motorcycle Crash: ‘His Legacy of Happiness and Care Will Continue to Inspire’

A Dallas County Sheriff’s Office detention service officer has died following an off-duty motorcycle accident, the Dallas Police Department said in a post on X.

Detention Service Officer DakendrickTraylor was 35. He was involved in the fatal crash on Dec. 14, CBS News reported. Dallas police announced his death on Saturday, Dec. 20. Additional details about the accident have not been released publicly.

According to Dallas police, Traylor was assigned to the Sheriff’s Office Special Hospital Observation Team and also served on the agency’s Honor Guard. He had worked with the department for five years, his obituary states.

“Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family during this difficult time,” the sheriff’s office said in a Facebook post. “DSO Traylor will be missed by his sheriff’s office family.”…
