DALLAS, Texas — Dallas Police Department officers arrested six individuals after gunfire erupted at an apartment complex on December 31, 2025. The incident occurred during an open-air surveillance operation in the 3300 block of Southern Oaks.
Officers observed a group of 12 to 15 individuals openly carrying firearms, including handguns and rifles, according to a press release from the department. Shortly after, a 9-1-1 call reported multiple individuals walking through the complex with firearms. As officers continued their surveillance, they heard rapid gunfire near the entrance of the complex and saw the individuals actively discharging firearms.
Uniformed CRT officers responded immediately, leading to a foot pursuit and the arrest of six individuals. During the investigation, officers recovered seven firearms, including five handguns and two rifles. Three of the firearms were reported stolen, and one handgun was equipped with a machine-gun conversion device.
