The streets of Downtown Dallas are reportedly becoming safer, as the Dallas Police Department focuses its efforts on the city’s heartbeat. With the Central Business District (CBD) nestled between major freeways, a dedicated patrol division was established to address the area’s unique demands. In a bid to maintain visibility and respond swiftly to incidents, officers on bikes, horseback, and foot have become a staple, contributing to a declining crime rate in the region.
In an operational push to ensure security and act effectively against violations, the CBD’s dedicated division has managed to significantly lower response times for Priority 1 emergency calls to an average of just two minutes. According to a report by the Dallas Police Department, the division made substantial arrests last year, including 106 family violence offenders and 90 fugitives with felony warrants.
