City of Plano to build 2 monuments honoring life, legacy of Ross Perot

PLANO, Texas — The city of Plano will be honoring the life and legacy of North Texas businessman Ross Perot with two monuments after the city council approved the measure Monday evening.

Perot, who died in 2019 at the age of 89, founded Perot Systems in 1988 in Plano. The city says he had a lasting impact on its business community and economic growth.

“Ross Perot helped shape Plano into a city known for economic leadership and opportunity,” Plano Mayor John Muns said in a statement. “His vision, leadership and belief in this community transformed a once rural area into a globally recognized center for business and innovation. These monuments ensure that his legacy and contributions will always be honored and remembered in Plano.”…
