Kroger announced it is closing a store in midtown McKinney, but expects to open a new store in the area soon after. The store, at Lake Forest Drive and Eldorado Parkway, is expected to shut down in March. Another store shut down a year ago in East McKinney.
Community Impact reports the closure is part of a larger company-wide initiative to improve efficiency and the company’s long-term financial health. Displaced employees will be able to get jobs at other DFW Kroger stores. There are stores nearby, one in McKinney and another in Frisco.
Kroger officials are expected to break ground on a new McKinney-area Kroger store in late January.
