How much snow or ice will North Texas get? Who will get the most? New totals are in the forecast

DALLAS — Many people in North Texas are wondering what the final ice and snow accumulations will be for the winter storm this weekend, but it’s still a very tricky forecast.

One degree change here or there, at any height in the atmosphere, can change what type of precipitation falls.

However, we’ve been starting to get some better, general agreement from the data and can offer some generalized amounts. Areas south and southwest of the immediate metroplex will see slightly less icing. Areas in and around DFW could see up to 0.25-0.75” of freezing rain, which is significant.
